Job Summary:

A Service Writer is the liaison between the Drivers and Maintenance Team, ensuring a seamless and accurate record of maintenance issues and requests. This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data and establish and document facts. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, customer focused, and detail orientated.

Schedule: 2 weeks on 1 week off; 12hour shifts with alternating days and nights.

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $100,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intakes equipment maintenance issues by listening and clearly documenting workorders within maintenance system.
  • Maintains and audits workorders by monitoring progress and ensuring data is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinates and assigns work orders to appropriate mechanics.
  • Conducts equipment swaps for Drivers with maintenance issues accurately logging truck assignments in maintenance system.
  • Distributes parts to mechanics as needed and assigns parts to work orders.
  • Executes other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a service writer or similar position.
  • Knowledge or experience using computers and systems such as Fleetio, Samsara, Excel or similar tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and general understanding fleet maintenance terminology.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret written instructions and procedures, business correspondence and routine reports.
  • Must be able to follow routine protocols as well as identify when the routines do not apply in a specific situation.
  • Ability to develop priorities and adjust work plans to meet deadlines.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English.
